FAITH BOOK

4th SUNDAY OF LENT (B) March 10, 2024

2 Chron 36: 14-17, 19-23; Psalm 137;
Ephesians 2: 4-10; John 3: 14-21

by Jude Siciliano, OP

Mini reflections on the Sunday scripture readings designed for persons on the run. “Faith Book” is also brief enough to be posted in the Sunday parish bulletins people take home.

From today’s Ephesians reading:

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus for the good works that God has prepared in advance that we should live in them.”

Reflection:

We can be become God’s “handiwork “if we let God do God‘s work in us. All is a gift of grace. Lent continues to remind us of that. With that grace we are called to follow Jesus and take up his cross. In Lent we pray and sacrifice to do just that.

So, we ask ourselves:

  • What “work” is God calling me to do this Lent?

  • What changes must I make in my life to do that “work.”

  • What aid is Lent giving me to perform that work?
