Lecture on “The ‘Three Priesthoods’ of the New Covenant”
You are invited to a Dominican Theological Lecture – “The ‘Three Priesthoods’ of the New Covenant” – to be given by Fr. Gerard Austin, O.P. and Fr. Paul J. Philibert, O.P. on Monday, October 26, at 7:30 p.m. hosted by the Newman Catholic Student Center Parish, 218 Pittsboro St., Chapel Hill. The lecture is sponsored by the Dominican friars of the Priory of St. Martin de Porres in Raleigh. The event is free and open to the public; a reception will follow.
In this Year for the Priest, Fr. Austin and Fr. Philibert will explore the roles of the priesthood of Christ, of all the baptized, and of ministerial priests, and how they are interrelated. Both Dominican friars hold the highest academic honor of the international Dominican Order, the S.T.M., and both taught at The Catholic University of America Fr. Austin is currently Professor of Theology at the Rice School of Pastoral Ministry in the Venice, FL diocese. Fr. Philibert recently moved to the Raleigh priory where he is engaged in full-time writing and research as well as itinerant preaching.
